Our client operates primarily as a B2B partner, supplying a number of establishments across the UK. They also supply machines, rental and maintenance, supported by a nationwide engineering network.
Your new role
We are working exclusively with our client who are looking for a Procurement Manager who is responsible for initiating and managing the sourcing process. Covering everything from supply market research through to tendering, bid evaluation, and cost, benefit and risk analysis. The role also involves identifying new opportunities that support the development of our established customer base and reinforce our commitment to delivering first-class customer service. In addition, the Procurement Manager is accountable for creating and delivering a procurement strategy that aligns with the requirements of all companies within the Group. The Procurement Manager leads and manages a team of buyers, working with suppliers across the Group's global supply base and collaborating with colleagues in other departments to ensure projects are delivered on time and critical product deadlines are met. The role includes influencing suppliers and internal stakeholders, exercising financial authority within Dynamics limits, and ensuring all procurement activity and strategy aligns with business needs, Group guidelines, and internal audit requirements.
What you'll need to succeed
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport, listen effectively, and communicate clearly in both written and verbal form. Proven leadership capability with the ability to guide, support, and influence team members, colleagues and suppliers. Skilled in negotiation, supplier management, and confident working with numerical and analytical information. High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and strong problem‑solving ability. Effective time management, organisation, and forward‑planning skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and manage workload efficiently. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and ideally familiar with Microsoft Dynamics. Strong analytical capability to interpret data and support decision‑making. Working within a manufacturing background dealing with a worldwide supplier base, fleet management and People Management and Development.
What you'll get in return
A salary of up to 65,000 with a bonus payment up to 20%. 28 days annual leave plus 4 bank holidays. On the completion of probation, the option for hybrid working 1 day per week. There is also an additional day holiday in the first 6 years, with the option to buy and sell holidays too. Companies pay 6% pension and 3% self, with the option to increase contributions. They also have an employee assistant programme and a cycle to work scheme.
