About the role

We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a growing commercial team delivering high-quality painting and decorating contracts across a range of sectors including social housing, public sector, and commercial projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially aware QS who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a strong background in managing painting works, from pre-construction through to final account. Key Responsibilities Managing the commercial aspects of multiple painting and decorating projects Preparation of cost estimates, budgets, and tenders Monitoring project costs, value, and variations Producing valuations, applications for payment, and final accounts Managing subcontractor procurement, payments, and performance Ensuring projects are delivered profitably and in line with contractual obligations Supporting operational teams with commercial advice and reporting Building strong relationships with clients and stakeholders Requirements Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor Essential: Strong background in painting and decorating or refurbishment contracts Good knowledge of JCT/NEC forms of contract Commercially astute with excellent negotiation skills Strong analytical and financial management abilities Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and commercial reporting tools Full UK driving licence What's on Offer Competitive salary package Company car or car allowance Bonus scheme Pension and benefits package Opportunities for career progression within a well-established business Supportive and collaborative RG Setsquare is acting as an Employment Agency in relation to this vacancy
