Financial Controller

​I’m currently working with a fast-growing, private equity-backed energy business that is looking to appoint a high-calibre Financial Controller to join its UK finance function. The business operates across the energy and low-carbon infrastructure sector, with a growing portfolio of operational assets and significant investment planned across the UK.This is a particularly exciting time to join. The business is scaling rapidly, investing heavily in its platform and assets, and looking to build a finance function capable of supporting the next phase of growth.The roleWe’re looking for a Financial Controller who is comfortable operating in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and who can take ownership, lead from the front and improve the finance function.You’ll have significant exposure across:Financial control, reporting and month-endManagement reporting and FP&ACash flow and working capitalCapEx and project/infrastructure spendBudgeting, forecasting and financial planningImproving systems, controls and processesSupporting business growth and investment activityWorking closely with senior leadership and the wider businessWhat we're looking forWe're particularly interested in people who have operated within:Renewable energy / energy / utilitiesEnergy or infrastructure investmentInfrastructure-heavy or asset-backed businessesHigh-CapEx environmentsPE-backed or rapidly scaling businessesYou'll be someone who can hit the ground running, commercially minded, hands-on, technically strong and confident enough to challenge the business where needed. This is a role for someone who doesn't need their hand held.
