Building Services Manager – Mechanical or Electrical Location: Bristol Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience Job Type: Permanent Project: Major Commercial Development An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Building Services Manager to join an established project team delivering a major commercial development in Bristol. This is a key position within the project team, responsible for overseeing the building services delivery from design and coordination through to installation, commissioning and handover. The role would suit an experienced Mechanical or Electrical Building Services professional with a strong background in major commercial construction projects. The Role As Building Services Manager, you will take responsibility for the successful coordination and delivery of the M&E services package, working closely with the project management, design and site teams. Key responsibilities will include: * Managing the delivery of mechanical and electrical building services across a major commercial project. * Providing leadership and technical guidance to engineers and site-based services teams. * Coordinating M&E design, installation, commissioning and handover. * Reviewing design information, drawings and technical submissions. * Managing design coordination and resolving technical issues throughout the project. * Working closely with consultants, subcontractors, suppliers and the client team. * Reviewing BIM models and coordinating services using platforms such as Navisworks. * Ensuring M&E works are delivered to programme, budget, quality and safety requirements. * Supporting procurement, tendering and subcontractor management. * Monitoring project progress and identifying potential issues before they impact delivery. * Leading technical meetings and providing solutions to complex engineering and construction challenges. * Supporting the development and mentoring of engineers and other members of the project team. * Ensuring all works comply with relevant standards, specifications and project requirements. About You The successful candidate will ideally have: * Significant experience managing building services on large-scale commercial construction projects. * A Mechanical or Electrical engineering background. * Strong knowledge of M&E installation, coordination and construction processes. * Experience working with main contractors, specialist subcontractors and consultants. * Strong leadership and project management skills. * The ability to manage multiple stakeholders and drive projects forward. * Experience with BIM, Navisworks, AutoCAD and/or Revit would be advantageous. * A relevant engineering qualification or equivalent experience. * Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
