Housing Options Manager

Marks Consulting Partners are currently looking for a Housing Options Manager / Team Leader to work with one of our Local Authority clients.

What the Job Will Be Doing
Managing and supporting a team of Housing Options Officers, ensuring the effective delivery of housing advice and homelessness prevention services.
Overseeing complex homelessness cases and providing guidance on statutory housing duties and legislation.
Ensuring homelessness assessments, Personalised Housing Plans (PHPs) and statutory decisions are legally robust and completed within required timescales.
Supporting the management of Section 204 appeals and Judicial Reviews, working closely with Legal Services.
Leading on homelessness prevention initiatives and identifying innovative solutions to prevent and relieve homelessness.
Overseeing referrals received under the Duty to Refer and ensuring appropriate action is taken.
Supporting officers with complex cases involving harassment, illegal eviction and tenancy disputes.
Representing the Housing Options Service at MARAC, MAPPA and other multi-agency meetings.
Leading on rough sleeping initiatives and Housing First pathways, working closely with commissioned support providers.
Building effective relationships with Housing Associations, Social Services, Health Services, Probation and other partner agencies.
Monitoring team performance, caseloads and key performance indicators to ensure service targets are achieved.
Conducting regular one-to-ones, case reviews and staff performance appraisals.
Identifying training needs and supporting the professional development of Housing Options Officers.
Supporting service improvements and implementing changes to homelessness legislation, policies and procedures.

What You Will Need
Previous experience working as a Housing Options Manager, Deputy Housing Options Manager, Homelessness Team Leader or Senior Housing Options Officer.
Strong knowledge of Part VII of the Housing Act 1996 and the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017.
Experience managing or supervising staff within a Housing Options or Homelessness service.
Experience overseeing complex homelessness cases and providing technical guidance to officers.
Good understanding of statutory homelessness decisions, Personalised Housing Plans and Section 204 appeals.
Experience monitoring team performance, managing caseloads and ensuring statutory deadlines are met.
Knowledge of MARAC, MAPPA, rough sleeping services and Housing First initiatives.
Experience working collaboratively with statutory agencies, Housing Associations and voluntary organisations.
Strong leadership, decision-making and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to support, motivate and develop staff. xwzovoh
