Senior Commercial Manager – Rail Infrastructure

Job ID: 5132Salary: 110,000 + benefits DOELocation: LondonRegion: LondonWe are currently looking for a experienced Senior Commercial Manager with previous experience of running major projects with values up to 250m, working for main civil engineering contractors. This project is part of a wider area redevelopment which will include the construction of 10,000 new homes.Candidate ProfileDegree Qualified in Quantity SurveyingAt least five years experience at Commercial Manager levelPrevious main contractor experience working on major rail projectsExperience managing high profile client such as Network Rail and TFLExperienced with multiple forms of contract including NEC (various options) NR, ICC, Target Cost etc.Member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (Desirable)Responsibilities:Be responsible for managing a large commercial team of Quantity Surveyors of all levels.Reporting into the Commercial Director of the Rail businessnderstand the contractual requirements of project documents including the roles and responsibilities of all involved and the notices required to record change etc. Ensure all required notices are issued in a timely manner.Identify unacceptable terms and conditions and negotiate contracts with clients and employersIdentify unacceptable wording in bonds, warranties and other guaranteesLiaise with the customer, his representatives and other 3rd parties on commercial issues, including the agreement of additional monies.Cost management for projectUnderstand allowances for elements of work (Preliminaries, materials, subcontract etc.)Understanding of cost to end of reporting period and comparison with allowanceUnderstand forecast cost to completionEstablish and use cost management systemsValue management for projectPrepare interim and final account and ensure paymentUnderstanding of true value to end of reporting period and comparison with actual cost expendedUnderstanding of forecast final value at completionChange management for projectThe client is looking for someone to start as soon as possible, taking into account relevant notice periods etc. Please apply or call to register your interest in this role.
