Engagement Mentor

Hello,   I’m currently working with an Alternative Provision based in Alfreton who are recruiting for the following positions: -Engagement / Behaviour Mentor -Tutor There are full and part time roles available and after working 12 weeks through us, there will be a permanent contract (subject to how you get on). The alternative provision caters for students from KS2 – KS5 who do not attend school for various reasons such as exclusion or SEMH needs linked to trauma or anxiety. Within the provision, you will be supporting students with Functional skills English and Maths as well as PSHE and Project based Science such as Nutrition and the human body.  There are also many vocational subjects. The provision often take the students out to complete Team based games such as Football and Rounders as well as obstacle courses. You may visit the zoo or farms as well as indoor and outdoor climbing experiences. There are trips to amusement parks and going out into the woods for Geocaching, Scavenger Hunts and Bush crafting skills. There will be a lot of time for 1:1 mentoring opportunities as well as visits to schools and colleges for the students. They do things like Graffiti and Urban Art Classes, Healthy Eating, Cooking lessons and much more. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop within a role from Mentor to Tutor and Teacher and the provision invest heavily on their staff and training.
