About the Team
Our team offers internal audit, advisory and other assurance services across multiple organisations within the public & social sector. We help clients understand the performance of their risk management processes and recommend improvements where needed. Our client base spans local government, education, central government, housing, police and charities.
About the Role
You will be responsible for delivering proactive, high‑quality and value‑added internal audit services across our portfolio of public and social sector clients. The role involves coordinating and delivering day‑to‑day internal audit services to clients in accordance with agreed quality and timescales. You will also manage the financial aspects of your portfolio, support business development, lead people management and training for the audit team, and contribute to the broader success of the Risk Consulting service line.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and deliver internal audit services to clients.
- Manage financial aspects of your audit portfolio.
- Lead business development efforts and support wider service line initiatives.
- Provide people management, training and development for the audit team.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of the Risk Consulting service line.
Qualifications
- Experience delivering internal audit services within the public & social sector.
- Specialist knowledge and/or in‑depth experience in one or more of the following areas: Projects, Programmes, Transformation and Change; Commercial and Procurement; People and Culture; Governance and Data Analytics.
- Experience developing and delivering the internal audit strategy and annual plan, including operationalising and monitoring delivery, timetabling and resourcing.
- Experience planning and performing fieldwork, liaising with auditees, preparing terms of reference, briefing team members, and presenting feedback to auditees.
- Hold a CCAB qualification (ACA, CA, ACCA, IIA, CII) or equivalent.
