The Supplier Quality Engineer is the liaison between the supply chain management team and suppliers to investigate, analyse and resolve supplier quality issues by conducting audits, defect trend analysis and leading continuous improvement projects to increase the supplier capability to consistently meet Maritime UK requirements.What the role will involveThe responsibilities of your role will include the following:Supplier sourcing and developmentWork with engineering and supply chain to understand requirements and assess the supplier technical capability and roadmapPerform supplier audits for risks and capabilitiesSpecify supplier deliverable quality and compliance requirementsEnsure there is a specification matrixAlign product verification/test between supplier and L3H acceptance, test, commissioning and installation activitiesEnsure that design to cost is metEnsure product compliance to specificationIdentify issues and analyse trendsMonitor Supplier Initiated Non-Conformances (SINs) and Non-Conformances (NCs) to identify and resolve trendsEnsure quality alignment throughout the supplier organizationDrive Root Cause & Corrective Actions (RCCA) from technical Supplier Corrective Action Review (SCARs) and NCsReport trendsCreate and implement Return to Green plansActively participate in all technical reviews and gates including design reviews, readiness reviews, first article inspections and acceptance events ensuring compliance to specificationParticipate in the Quality Alert and containment processPerform onsite supplier assessmentsEnsure build & test processes are robust and repeatable with no variabilityEnsure the product can be produced in the most economic, efficient and effective mannerUtilise tools and techniques such as FMEAContinuous improvement mindsetWhat you’ll bring The role requires the following experience and skills:Degree in Mechanical, Electrical and/or Manufacturing Engineering combined with experience of product design and manufactureExtensive knowledge and practical application of ISO standards (ISO9001, ISO27001, ISO14001, ISO45001)Application of Quality (APQP, PPAP, FMEA) and Lean tools and techniquesImportant to knowDue to the nature of our work many our roles require a UK nationality and the ability to obtain a security clearance.
