Container Commercial Manager – Felixstowe Salary £40-50K + Car Pension Free Parking Sick Pay Casual dress Company socials Bereavement leave We are looking for an experienced Commercial Manager to join an established container transport operation in Felixstowe. This is a customer-facing role for someone who understands the container transport market and can develop existing relationships while creating new commercial opportunities. Key Responsibilities * Develop and grow existing customer accounts. * Identify and secure new business opportunities. * Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline. * Develop relationships with freight forwarders, shipping lines and importers. * Prepare quotations, rate reviews and commercial proposals. * Attend customer meetings and industry events. * Work closely with Operations to ensure commercially viable solutions. * Monitor customer volumes, rates and account performance. * Support tenders and larger commercial opportunities. * Identify opportunities to introduce additional services What We’re Looking For * Strong knowledge of container transport and the Felixstowe market. * Existing industry relationships and contacts would be advantageous. * Proven commercial, sales or account management experience. * Confident developing new business as well as managing existing customers. * Commercially aware with a good understanding of transport pricing and margins. * Strong communication and negotiation skills. * Self-motivated and comfortable generating your own opportunities. * Able to build long-term customer relationships rather than simply chase short-term sales.
