Job Title: Mechanical Level 3 Light Vehicle Technician
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 17:00
Pay Rate: £18.11 per hour
Job Summary:
The Mechanical Level 3 Light Vehicle Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of light vehicles to ensure they meet safety, performance, and manufacturer standards. This role requires a qualified technician with strong mechanical knowledge and the ability to carry out both routine servicing and complex repairs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine servicing, maintenance, and repairs on light vehicles.
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic equipment and technical manuals.
- Carry out repairs on engines, transmissions, braking systems, suspension, and steering components.
- Conduct vehicle inspections and identify any additional work required.
- Ensure all work is completed to a high standard in line with manufacturer and company guidelines.
- Complete job cards, service records, and relevant documentation accurately.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and workshop procedures.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
- Work efficiently to meet productivity targets and deadlines.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Level 3 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (or equivalent).
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- Good understanding of modern vehicle systems, including mechanical and electrical components.
- Ability to use diagnostic tools and workshop equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
Experience:
- Previous experience working as a vehicle technician in an automotive workshop is required.
- Experience with a variety of vehicle makes and models is desirable.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform manual tasks.
- Capability to lift and handle vehicle components safely.
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
Additional Requirements:
- Full UK driving license is preferred.
