About the Role:
A high-performing and inclusive secondary school in the Croydon area is seeking to appoint an inspiring and ambitious Head of Performing Arts.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate Drama/Performing Arts specialist to lead a thriving department where the arts play a central role in school life. The successful candidate will drive excellence across the curriculum while also leading a rich programme of extracurricular performances and productions.
The school has a strong reputation for its termly productions and annual performances, and you will be instrumental in continuing to build on this success, including developing links with local creative organisations and performance venues.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead, manage, and develop the Performing Arts department
* Deliver outstanding teaching across KS3–KS5
* Drive student progress, attainment, and curriculum innovation
* Organise and lead school productions, performances, and events
* Line manage and support department staff
* Contribute to whole-school improvement and enrichment provision

The Ideal Candidate:
* Holds QTS and a relevant degree
* Experienced teacher of Drama and/or Performing Arts
* Proven leadership experience or readiness to step into a leadership role
* Strong understanding of curriculum development and assessment
* Passion for extracurricular enrichment and student performance
* Ability to inspire both students and staff
