About the Role

Our client, a leading organisation within the UK nuclear sector, is seeking a skilled EC&I Technician / Craftsperson to join their team based at the Sellafield site. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to critical operations supporting the safe management and monitoring of radiological environments.


The successful candidate will play a key role in the maintenance, repair, testing, and commissioning of radiometric equipment and radiation detection instruments, ensuring compliance with stringent safety and regulatory standards.


Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out maintenance, fault finding, and repair of radiometric and radiation detection equipment
  • Perform testing and commissioning activities on EC&I systems
  • Diagnose electrical and instrumentation faults and implement effective solutions
  • Ensure all work is completed in line with site safety procedures and industry regulations
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance, testing, and calibration activities
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to team performance


Requirements

  • Completion of a Level 3 apprenticeship in Electrical Engineering or Control & Instrumentation (or closely related discipline)
  • Post-apprenticeship experience working as an Electrical and/or Instrument Technician / Craftsperson
  • Strong understanding of electrical and instrumentation systems
  • Experience in maintenance and fault diagnosis within an industrial environment
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a xwzovoh team
  • Strong commitment to safety and quality standards


Desirable (but not essential)

  • Experience working with radiometric or radiation detection equipment
  • Previous experience in nuclear, highly regulated, or hazardous environments
  • Electronics experience
