Graduate Commissioning Engineer

Senior HV Commissioning Engineer - Long-Term Contract Opportunity ? We're supporting a major programme of transmission infrastructure works across Scotland and are looking for an experienced HV Commissioning Engineer to play a key role in the delivery of critical substation projects. This is an outstanding opportunity to secure a long-term contract with excellent earning potential and the chance to work on some of the UK's most significant grid and energy projects. ?? 12-Month Initial Contract + Annual Extensions ?? Immediate / ASAP Start Available ?? £Monday-Friday Working Pattern (10-hour days, early finish Fridays) + potential weekend work As a key member of the commissioning team, you'll take ownership of HV and EHV substation commissioning activities, ensuring critical infrastructure is tested, energised, and handed over safely and efficiently. Lead and deliver commissioning activities on HV/EHV substations and associated systems across major transmission projects. ? Develop and implement commissioning plans, procedures, switching schedules, and test documentation. ? Perform functional testing, fault-finding, and verification of protection, control, and SCADA systems. ? Work closely with project, design, and construction teams to ensure successful project delivery and programme milestones are achieved. ? Produce commissioning reports, test records, and final handover documentation. ? Support energisation activities and ensure systems are brought online safely, compliantly, and on schedule. ? Proven experience commissioning HV/EHV substations (132kV-400kV). ? Ability to manage multiple commissioning packages and work autonomously on site. ? Strong communication skills with a proven ability to engage with stakeholders at all project levels. Long-term project pipeline with annual extension potential. ??
