An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Paralegal to join the firm's Northwood office on an initial six-month fixed-term contract. This role will provide vital support to fee earners across multiple practice areas, with a particular focus on assisting the Residential Conveyancing team while also supporting Corporate, Commercial and other legal departments as required.


This position would suit a proactive and organised Paralegal who enjoys variety in their work and is keen to develop experience across a broad range of legal disciplines within a busy private practice environment.


Key Responsibilities Residential Conveyancing Support



  • Conduct Land Registry searches and obtain title documents.


Assist with post-completion matters, including registration applications and SDLT-related administration.


Prepare and submit Land Registry applications.


Liaise with clients, estate agents, lenders and third parties regarding conveyancing matters.


Assist fee earners with the progression of residential property transactions.


Maintain accurate case management records and ensure files are up to date.



General Paralegal Support



  • Provide administrative and legal support to fee earners across various departments, including Corporate and Commercial.


Draft correspondence, legal documents and basic transactional documents under supervision.


Undertake legal research and prepare file notes.


Prepare client engagement documentation and assist with matter opening procedures.


Manage document production, filing and document management systems.


Monitor key dates, deadlines and action points across matters.


Assist with due diligence exercises and document reviews.


Handle general client enquiries and facilitate effective communication between clients and fee earners.



Candidate Requirements



  • Previous experience working as a Paralegal, Legal Assistant or Legal Administrator within a law firm.


Prior exposure to residential conveyancing work, particularly post-completion and Land Registry processes, is highly desirable.


Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.


Excellent attention to detail and administrative accuracy.


Strong written and verbal communication skills.


Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal case management systems.


A professional, collaborative and proactive approach.



Desirable



  • Experience supporting multiple legal disciplines within private practice.


Law degree, LPC, SQE or equivalent legal qualification.


Previous exposure to corporate/commercial matters.
