About the role
We are recruiting for Train Managers to join CrossCountry at Edinburgh.

- Salary of £35,371 per annum during training, rising to £41,292 per annum upon successful completion (average 35 hours per week)
Responsibilities
- Serve as the face of CrossCountry, ensuring every journey is a pleasant experience for customers
- Check and sell tickets on board services, advising customers on journeys individually and in groups
- Maintain awareness of passengers’ individual needs and provide appropriate assistance
- Handle unexpected situations calmly and confidently, reporting or fixing defective equipment and managing luggage issues
- Work closely with on‑board colleagues to deliver memorable customer experiences
- Adhere to all safety procedures and be ready to lead in critical situations after training
Training & Schedule
- Initial 10‑week training course starting in September, held in Derby covering all aspects of the role
- Shift work – not a 9‑to‑5 schedule; you must be able to work unsocial hours and some weekends reliably, with week‑day time off
Requirements
- Must live within a one‑hour commute of Edinburgh
- Must be able to work unsocial hours, including weekends
- Safety‑critical medical clearance and DBS check required
