Are you an experienced Workshop Manager / Workshop Supervisor / Senior Engineer ready to take the next step in your career?
We are recruiting for an experienced and motivated Workshop Manager to lead the engineering operation at a busy PSV / bus depot.
This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of workshop performance, lead an engineering team and have a direct impact on the safety, reliability and availability of the fleet.
The Role of the Workshop Manager / Lead Engineer / Senior Engineer / Workshop Supervisor
Reporting to the senior engineering management team, you will take responsibility for the effective day-to-day running of the workshop and engineering team.
Lead and manage the day-to-day operation of the engineering workshop.
Lead, motivate and develop the engineering team, supporting training and performance.
Ensure the fleet is maintained to the highest standards of safety, reliability and presentation.
Ensure compliance with DVSA, Department for Transport, statutory and company requirements.
Monitor fleet reliability, identify repeat defects and implement improvements to increase vehicle availability.
Take ownership of engineering issues while driving a culture of safety, accountability and continuous improvement.
What you’ll need as the Workshop Manager / Lead Engineer / Senior Engineer / Workshop Supervisor
We're looking for an experienced engineering professional with the leadership skills to successfully manage a busy workshop.
You will ideally have:
Recent Workshop Supervisor, Workshop Manager or Engineering Management experience.
Experience within a PSV, PCV, HGV, bus or commercial vehicle fleet.
A proven ability to lead, motivate and develop engineering teams.
Strong technical, organisational and decision-making skills.
A proactive approach to problem solving and improving fleet reliability.
Excellent communication skills and a commitment to high standards of safety, engineering quality and customer service.
Essential Requirements of the Workshop Manager / Lead Engineer / Senior Engineer / Workshop Supervisor
NVQ Level 3 in a relevant engineering discipline.
Full UK driving licence.
Recent engineering supervisory or management experience.
