Qualified SEN Tutor - Outreach (Barking & Dagenham) About the Opportunity Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Tutor to deliver personalised 1:1 tuition in Maths and English to young people across Barking & Dagenham. Learners may be out of school due to a range of additional needs, and require a patient, adaptable tutor who can provide structured, engaging sessions that rebuild confidence and support steady academic progress. Tuition will typically be 10-15 hours per week, delivered in the home or community setting. Many pupils will have experienced disrupted education, so the ability to differentiate, build rapport, and create a safe, supportive learning environment is essential. Prospero Teaching will work closely with you to monitor progress and ensure each learner receives consistent, high‑quality support. Contract / Position Details Location - Barking & Dagenham Position - SEN Tutor (Maths & English) Type of Work - 1:1 outreach tuition Start Date - ASAP Duration - Ongoing, dependent on student needs Contract Type - Temporary Hours - Approximately 10-15 hours per week Rate of Pay - From £25 per hourExperience, Training and Qualifications Teaching qualification is essential (QTS, QTLS, PGCE or equivalent) Strong experience supporting pupils with SEN Ability to deliver Maths and English at an appropriate level Minimum 6 months' experience in a UK school or tuition setting Up‑to‑date Safeguarding Training (desirable)To Be Eligible for This Role, You Must: Hold Right to Work in the UK Hold an Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one Provide two professional references covering the last two yearsAdditional Information If you would like to be considered for this role, please apply with an up‑to‑date CV.
