Chemical Engineer

Location: Southampton Salary: £60,000 + Benefits Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time We are recruiting for a Chemical Process Engineer to join a leading chemical manufacturing business. Reporting to the Engineering & Maintenance Manager, you will act as the site's principal Chemical Engineer, driving process safety, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement across an Upper Tier COMAH site. Key Responsibilities * Provide chemical engineering support for projects, modifications, and improvement initiatives. * Drive process safety, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence. * Identify opportunities to improve plant reliability, efficiency, and cost performance. * Support Management of Change (MOC) and process safety requirements. * Monitor and report KPI and utility performance. * Work closely with Production, Engineering, and Operations teams to optimise performance. * Lead investigations into process-related incidents and safety concerns. About You * Degree qualified Chemical Engineer or related discipline. * Minimum 5 years' experience within a chemical manufacturing environment. * Strong knowledge of COMAH regulations, process safety, and continuous improvement. * Experience working on plant modifications and process optimisation projects. * Excellent communication, planning, and stakeholder management skills. * Chartered Engineer status desirable.
