About the role
PRIVATE RENTED SECTOR ACCESS LEAD
Are you ready to build and maintain relationships with private landlords, letting agents, statutory services and partner organisations to secure suitable accommodation opportunities for young people?
As Private Rented Sector (PRS) Access Lead you will develop and coordinate MACS Private Rented Sector access project for care experienced young people and young people at risk of homelessness. Supporting young people to access, establish and sustain tenancies through a combination of housing access, tenancy support coordination, crisis prevention and partnership working.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with private landlords and letting agents.
- Identify, source and secure suitable private rented accommodation opportunities for young people.
- Promote MACS as a trusted and supported pathway for landlords engaging with care experienced young people.
- Act as the primary point of contact for landlords and respond promptly to tenancy concerns or emerging issues.
- Assess referrals to determine suitability for PRS accommodation, considering support needs, risk, affordability and readiness for independent living.
- Coordinate pre-tenancy preparation support for young people including budgeting, tenancy rights and responsibilities, and independent living skills.
Key Requirements:
- Experience building partnerships with landlords, statutory agencies or community organisations.
- Experience working directly with private landlords or within the Private Rented Sector (PRS).
- Full current driving license and access to a car insured for business use.
Post Available: 1 x full time, 2 year fixed term contract, based 303 Ormeau Road, Belfast.
Salary: £35,005 per annum
Benefits: MACS Pension contribution of 4% of salary; up to 41 days annual leave (pro rata and including bank holidays); enhanced paid leave for Sick, Maternity and Carers leave; paid training days per year; Flexible and Hybrid working options available and Health Benefits.
