About the role
Are you handy with tools and love keeping spaces safe and welcoming? We're looking for an enthusiastic Estates/Maintenance Assistant to join our client in Kendal on a temporary basis for at least a month, potentially longer.
Position: Estates Assistant
Location: Based at our client's college campus so a
Hours: Monday to Friday, 37 hours a week, 8 hours per day with half hour unpaid lunch - Ideally 7am - 3.30pm but potential for flexibility on hours.
Pay: £13 per hour
REQUIREMENT: A Current DBS is mandatory for this role.
Your Role:
As an Estates Assistant, you'll be the backbone of our facility, ensuring everything runs smoothly and safely. Your day-to-day tasks will include:
Performing general maintenance duties like changing lightbulbs, fixing door handles, and painting.
Patrolling buildings to maintain safe access and ensure security.
Securing the premises at the end of each day.
Being a visible presence on site to deter unruly behaviour.
Responding to first aid needs and emergencies.
Conducting daily litter picks and managing recycling bins.
Delivering parcels and preparing rooms for various events.
Addressing immediate estate issues and hazards.What We're Looking For:
Previous handyman experience is essential.
A proactive approach to health and safety.
Excellent customer care skills.
