Quality Manager

NegotiablePlymouth, England Contract Our client, operating within the Defence & Security sector, is currently seeking a Quality Manager for a contract position at the Devonport Royal Dockyard in Plymouth. This role involves extensive collaboration with the SRC Lead and a commitment to delivering high standards of quality within a sensitive and secure environment.Key Responsibilities:Developing and implementing the quality management system (QMS)Setting quality objectives and ensuring alignment with business goalsOverseeing audits (internal and external) and certification processesManaging the quality team, including recruitment, training, and performanceHandling escalated quality issues and leading cross-functional problem-solvingEnsuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standardsReporting quality performance to senior management and clientsLeading strategic initiatives for quality improvement and risk managementThis position involves working within a live MOD facility, and tasks may vary as needed to meet the project's requirements, supported by training when necessary.Job Requirements:Experience in Quality Engineering and quality managementProfessionally qualified with significant post-qualification experienceRelevant academic qualifications in Civil Engineering, Quality, or Construction (e.g., HNC, BSc, MSc, BEng, MEng)ISO 9001 Lead Auditor trainingIOSH Managing Safely certificationCSCS - White PQP/AQP and CSCS - Managers cardsExtensive knowledge of quality management systems (QMS) and standardsProven leadership and management experienceStrong strategic planning, decision-making, and communication skillsExpertise in audit management, compliance, and continuous improvementAbility to influence at senior management and stakeholder levelsAdditional Information:Due to the nature of the site, BPSS security clearance is required, which may take up to 8 weeks, followed by SC security clearance, which can take an additional 4 weeks.
