Assistant Quantity Surveyor | Prime Residential Contractor Location: Chelsea, London Salary: £35,000 – £45,000 + Package (Dependent on Experience) Role Type: Permanent The Opportunity Are you a junior commercial professional looking to move away from general contracting and into the world of ultra prime construction? We are representing a leading high-end residential contractor based in Chelsea who are synonymous with luxury. They specialize in the refurbishment of Grade I & II listed buildings and the construction of bespoke super-prime residences with project values reaching £15M+. They are looking for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor who possesses a sharp commercial mind and the "high-end" eye for detail required for luxury finishes. The Role Working directly under a Commercial Manager, you will be mentored through the nuances of bespoke contracting. This isn't just about moving numbers on a spreadsheet; it’s about managing artisan sub-contractors and sourcing specialist materials. Your focus will include: * Package Management: Handling high-value specialist packages (bespoke joinery, stone, home automation). * Procurement: Negotiating with a niche supply chain. * Commercial Support: Assisting with valuations, variations, and cost reporting. * Contract Admin: Exposure to JCT forms of contract. The Candidate * Experience: Ideally 12 months+ experience with a main contractor or developer (though high-caliber Graduates with a strong placement year will be considered). * Communication: Exceptional verbal and written English is non-negotiable given the client-facing nature of the role. * Ambition: You should be eager to work toward your APC/RICS or further professional development. * Local Knowledge: Ideally based within a reasonable commute of West London/Chelsea.
