About the role
Purpose of Job AsBusiness Development Executive is responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building client relationships, and promoting waste recycling services. The role focuses on building long-term relationships with commercial, industrial, construction, and public-sector clients to increase recycling volumes, improve customer retention, and drive revenue growth. The successful candidate will have strong sales and relationship management skills, an understanding of environmental sustainability, and the ability to promote waste reduction and recycling solutions tailored to customer needs. Key Responsibilities Business Development Identify and develop new business opportunities in the waste management Generate leads through networking, cold calling, site visits, and industry events Relationship Management Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, including businesses, local authorities, and contractors Promote company recycling services (e.g., plastic, metal, paper, e-waste, hazardous waste solutions) Conduct regular client meetings and waste audits to identify opportunities for improved recycling and waste diversion. Act as the primary point of contact for customer queries relating to recycling and waste management services. Collaborate with operations teams to ensure service delivery meets client expectations Commercial Maintain accurate customer records and sales activity within the CRM system. Produce regular sales forecasts, pipeline updates, and activity reports. 13+ years of experience in sales or business development (waste management industry preferred) Familiarity with contract management processes, including monitoring performance against KPIs and SLAs. Proven track record of achieving sales targets Competent in Microsoft Office and CRM systems. Valid driving license and access to own transport Desirable Experience Experience within the waste management, recycling, environmental services, or sustainability sector. Knowledge of waste legislation and environmental compliance. Familiarity with contract management processes, including monitoring performance against KPIs and SLAs. Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify trends, risks, and opportunities from data and operational activities.
