Clerk of Works
A growing multi-disciplinary consultancy based in Sheffield is looking to appoint an experienced Clerk of Works to join its expanding team. The consultancy delivers Building Surveying and Project Management services across the commercial, education, healthcare and public sectors. The successful candidate will work across a diverse portfolio of refurbishment, extension, conversion and new build projects, predominantly within approximately one hour of Sheffield. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Clerk of Works to join a growing consultancy with a strong project pipeline and genuine long-term career progression.
Clerk of Works Salary & Benefits:
Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 DOE

Clerk of Works Job Overview:
As a Clerk of Works, you will be responsible for monitoring construction quality and ensuring works are delivered in accordance with drawings, specifications and project requirements. You will undertake regular site inspections, identify defects and non-compliance, and work closely with contractors and project teams to ensure high standards are maintained throughout the construction process. The role will include: Undertaking regular site inspections across a range of construction projects
Monitoring workmanship, materials and quality of construction
Checking works against drawings, specifications and project requirements
Identifying defects, non-compliance and areas requiring remedial works
Producing clear and accurate site inspection reports
Monitoring progress and reporting findings to the project team
Attending site and project meetings
Working closely with contractors, consultants and clients
Monitoring snagging and remedial works
Reviewing construction details and identifying potential issues on site
Supporting project teams throughout the construction phase
Ensuring quality standards are maintained across projects
Clerk of Works Job Requirements:
Previous experience as a Clerk of Works or in a similar construction inspection role
Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials and workmanship
Experience inspecting refurbishment and/or new build projects
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
Strong report writing and communication skills
Confident working with contractors, consultants and clients
Strong attention to detail
Chartered status would be advantageous
Relevant construction qualification would be advantageous
Full UK Driving Licence
