About the role

SEN Learning Support Assistant - Salisbury Prospero Teaching is recruiting a dedicated and supportive SEN Learning Support Assistant to work with pupils in the Salisbury area. This role involves supporting students with a range of additional needs, including autism, ADHD, learning difficulties, communication needs, and social, emotional or behavioural challenges. You will work closely with teaching staff to provide consistent and tailored support, helping pupils access the curriculum, remain engaged in lessons, and develop confidence throughout the school day. Support may be delivered on a 1:1 basis or within small groups, depending on the needs of each pupil. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting students who benefit from additional structure and encouragement. The Role: Provide 1:1 support and small‑group assistance for pupils with SEN Support pupils during lessons, activities, and daily routines Assist with emotional regulation and behaviour support Adapt learning tasks to meet individual needs Encourage independence, confidence, and engagement Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and support staff Promote a calm, inclusive, and structured learning environment Follow safeguarding and school policies consistently Ideal Candidate: Experience working with children or vulnerable individuals Calm, patient, and confident supporting additional needs Strong communication and interpersonal skills Able to build positive, trusting relationships with pupils Adaptable and responsive to changing situations Reliable and able to work effectively as part of a team Backgrounds in SEN, care, youth work, or support roles welcomed Contract Details: Position: SEN Learning Support Assistant Location: Salisbury Start Date: ASAP Working Pattern: Full‑time, term‑time Pay Rate: £14.25 - £15.66 per hour Key Stages: Primary / Secondary Experience, Training & Safeguarding: SEN or relevant child‑support experience desirable Safeguarding training can be provided Understanding of SEN strategies beneficial but not essential What Prospero Teaching Offers: Free accredited CPD, including safeguarding & behaviour management Ongoing support from a dedicated consultant Opportunities for continued work and progression A meaningful role supporting pupils with additional needsIf you're looking for a rewarding SEN Learning Support Assistant role in Salisbury, we'd love to hear from you.
