NegotiableBristol, England Permanent Our client, a leading consultancy in the civil engineering sector, is currently seeking a Principal Civil Engineer to join their team. This is a permanent role focused on delivering a diverse range of development schemes across the UK, including commercial, residential, healthcare, and education projects.Key Responsibilities:Designing highways in accordance with relevant standards such as Local Highway Authority guidance, Manual for Streets, LTN 1/20, DMRB, and NRSWADesigning drainage systems in line with Sewerage Sector Guidance, the Code for Adoption Agreements, and The SuDS Manual (CIRIA C753)Undertaking the design of public realm, active travel, cycling infrastructure improvements, major highways, and utilities coordinationManaging site monitoring and assisting in the production of fee proposals and bidsLiaising and negotiating with highway and planning authorities to agree on proposed designsCoordinating highway and drainage adoption processes including S278, S38, and S104 agreementsProducing technical reports and attending meetings with clients, architects, contractors, local authorities, and other statutory bodies to discuss project issuesJob Requirements:Experience in providing high-quality design input across various projects, ensuring compliance with current legislation, best practice, and local authority policiesExperience in the design of commercial and residential developments, public realm design, traffic management, and utilities infrastructureSound understanding of national design standards such as highway and drainage adoption agreementsProficiency in industry software including AutoCAD, Civils 3D, Site 3D, Causeway Flow (or InfoDrainage), Vehicle Tracking, and KeyLINES/SIGN/POSTExperience in earthworks design, including cut and fill analysisStrong communication and negotiation skillsExcellent time management and organisational abilities with a track record of delivering projects on time and within budgetDegree in Civil Engineering (or similar) and working towards or holding a professional qualification (Incorporated or Chartered)Benefits:An attractive and modern working environment with good accessibility by all modes of transportOpportunities for career progression within the firmA wide range of challenging projectsOngoing support, training, and mentoring from senior professionalsIf you are an experienced Principal Civil Engineer looking for a new opportunity to contribute your expertise in a dynamic and growing consultancy, we would love to hear from you.
