The role will report to the Corporate and Commercial Services Division Head of Knowledge Management, Matt McBride, and will be located within the Knowledge Management and Innovation function headed by Nick Pryor. It is open to candidates in most locations that are within reasonable reach of one or more of the firm’s 13 offices.

  • Thought Leadership: Writing insightful content for internal client and social media audiences on legal change and its impact on the group’s work.
  • Training: Providing technical training on significant new developments for lawyers and clients, including new areas of law and routine training on contract formation, battle of the forms, warranties and indemnities, and other technical aspects of contracting as part of the group’s client‑retention initiatives.
  • Query and Research Support: Assisting fee earners with detailed technical questions.
  • Template and Precedent Document: Assisting fee earners with the creation and maintenance of template and precedent documents and keeping the group’s template/precedent/prompt library current.
  • Knowledge Capture: Ensuring active fee‑earner contribution to KM, such as capture and management of valuable work product (clauses, research notes, legal opinions, etc.).
  • Agreed Best Practice: Incorporating learned and captured knowledge into Freeths’ KM resources and processes, with an emphasis on effective use of legal technology and innovation to provide best‑in‑class client service.
  • Business Development: Supporting lead development and pitches through the KM endeavours outlined above.

Qualifications

  • At least 3 years PQE with expertise in one or more of the areas listed above.
  • Experience of Financial Services regulation and/or intellectual property would be desirable, but not essential.
