Looking for a role where you can influence a product before it reaches production? This opportunity gives you ownership of project purchasing, involvement in product development and the chance to build international supplier relationships.

We're recruiting on behalf of our client for a Strategic Procurement Specialist who combines commercial confidence with an understanding of engineering and manufacturing.

What you'll get involved in as Strategic Procurement Specialist:

Take new products from initial sourcing through to production launch.
Find and assess suppliers, negotiate contracts and secure competitive terms.
Keep component costs, tooling and supplier delivery on track.
Work alongside engineering and quality teams to ensure suppliers are ready for production.
Spot supply risks early and find practical ways to improve cost, quality and reliability.What you'll bring as Strategic Procurement Specialist:

At least three years' experience in strategic procurement, project purchasing, commodity management or supply chain.
Experience supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) and manufacturing projects.
Strong negotiation skills and experience selecting and developing international suppliers.
Familiarity with MRP systems and supplier approval processes such as APQP, PPAP or FAI.
A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel internationally when needed.*CIPS qualifications and knowledge of engineered components are highly desirable
