Early Years Assistant The Spinney Lane Nursery School Salary: £26,806 - £27,032 (pro-rata for part-time and sessional) post 1 36 hours permanent post 2 31 hours Fixed Term Contract until 02/07/2027 The Spinney Lane Nursery, located in the grounds of Gilmerton Primary School, provides early learning and childcare for children aged 3-5. The nursery has implemented 1140 (term-time) hours from August 2018. From August 2020 the Nursery has run a full-time, term-time only placement for approximately 60 children. Children are in from 8.30-3pm on a Monday to Thursday and 8.30-12.30 on a Friday. We are now are looking to recruit an enthusiastic team-player who will work collaboratively as a member of the early years team. Assisting in meeting the educational, care and welfare needs of all children ensuring those with additional support needs who can attend a mainstream provision, can effectively access the curriculum. You provide support and assistance in the day-to-day operations of the Nursery School as directed by the Head Teacher/Head of Centre or nominated staff. You will be flexible and assist in carrying out general clerical duties as and when required in support of children's learning. This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required.
