SeniorPlanningOfficerTheSeniorPlanningOfficerwillmanageacaseloadofplanningapplications,rangingfromminordevelopmentstosmall-scalemajorapplications(andmorecomplexschemesathigherlevel),assessingproposalsandproducingrobust,well-reasonedreportsandrecommendations.Theroleinvolvesregularengagementwithapplicants,stakeholdersandinternalconsultees,aswellaspresentingapplicationsatPlanningCommittee.
SeniorPlanningOfficerKeyresponsibilitiesincludehandlingplanningapplicationsandappeals,providingpre-applicationadvice,supportingserviceimprovements,andensuringdeliveryagainstkeyperformancetargets.Thepostholderwillbeexpectedtocontributetothecontinuousimprovementofsystemsandprocesses,workcollaborativelyacrossteams,andsupportjuniorcolleaguesthroughknowledgesharingandmentoring.
SeniorPlanningOfficerCandidatesmustdemonstratestrongknowledgeofplanningpolicyandpractice,excellentanalyticalandcommunicationskills,andtheabilitytomanagecompetingprioritieseffectively.Experienceindealingwithplanningappeals,committeepresentationsandcomplexplanningissues(suchasGreenBelt,conservationareasorviability)isessential. xwzovoh Aproactive,collaborativeandcustomer-focusedapproachiskeytosuccessinthisrole.
