Transport Team Leader

Our client is a Global FMCG Distributor and we are delighted to assist them in their search for a Transport professional with frozen and chilled distribution experience, as they look to recruit a Transport Team Leader at their site in Wakefield on a 4on, 4off basis (0600hrs – 1800hrs).

Reporting into the Transport Manager, you will be responsible for the day to day running of the busy Transport operation. The site operates mainly on a single drop basis, with some multi-drop to select customers.

Key Accountabilities as Transport Team Leader:

• Manage the daily transport plan using relevant software, ensuring accurate resource allocation.
• Manage Drivers through debriefs and standard HR procedure
• Coordinate with the warehouse to ensure loads are managed in line with the plan.
• Communicate delays promptly to stakeholders and manage live load monitoring.
• Audit driver packs and ensure drivers are fully briefed before departure.
• Monitor transportation schedules and proactively address potential issues.
