About the role

Overview

Permanent Specialty Doctor post in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Dumfries & Galloway Royal Infirmary. 10 sessions per week. The post-holder will be part of the resident 1 in 7 on-call rota and is encouraged to participate in service development. Location: Dumfries & Galloway, Scotland.

Responsibilities

  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team in obstetrics and gynaecology.
  • Participate in an on-call rota (resident 1 in 7).
  • Engage in elective daytime sessions, including theatre and clinic rotations, as required by on-call frequency.
  • Contribute to service development and continuous improvement within the department.

Qualifications and Registration

  • Obstetrics and gynaecology experience of at least two years ST3+ (or equivalent) in the specialty is essential.
  • MRCOG Part 1 or equivalent is required; MRCOG Part 2 or equivalent is preferred.
  • GMC registration in good standing is required.

Team and Setting

The department comprises five Consultants, five Specialty Doctors and three specialty trainees. The annual delivery rate is approximately 1,150.
