About the role
You're a Mechanical Engineer first and a Design Engineer second. As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you'll work on projects from concept through to completion, getting involved hands on with production, product testing and clients - you don't want to just sit in a design office. Based in Mansfield, we develop machinery and equipment predominately for the water, gas and utilities sectors.

Mechanical Design Engineer - Machinery, Equipment, Hydraulics
Reporting to our Technical Director (who still remains hands-on), you'll be empowered to take ownership of projects from cradle to grave.
Rather than just being confined to a design office, you'll get to visit client sites to visualize your design challenges and work closely with the team on the shop floor in production and test.
Projects will vary from NPD to re-engineering solutions, low batch, high volume and next generation innovation. You will need the ability to juggle several projects at different stages, which will challenge you as a Mechanical Design Engineer. Innovation and quality are at the core of what we do here.
Mechanical Design Engineer - Machinery, Equipment, Hydraulics
You'll be working on a number of projects at any one time (2-3), at different stages with different engineering challenges.
Detailed mechanical design of new products from cradle to grave
· Re-engineering existing products to enhance design, manufacturing efficiency, durability, cost down and weight etc
· Prototype testing
· Internal stakeholder management with production
Mechanical Design Engineer - Machinery, Equipment, Hydraulics
You'll be an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer educated to likely an HND or B.ENG in Mechanical Engineering.
Running design projects from concept through to completion
· Competent using SolidWorks (you will have a practical test at interview stage)
· Worked closely with production and test (DfMA)
