Hours: 40 hours per week Monday to Friday, 08:0016:30 (30-minute break)
We are recruiting an experienced Fabricator to join a well-established manufacturing team. This role involves hands-on fabrication, assembly and finishing of plastic components used across a range of engineered products. Ideal for someone who enjoys practical work, values precision and takes pride in producing high-quality items.
Key Responsibilities
Fabrication & Assembly
Carry out hands-on fabrication as part of the production team.
Fabricate, assemble, rework and repair plastic products using hand tools, power tools and machinery.
Read and interpret drawings, blueprints and work orders.
Mark out, cut and shape materials such as sheet plastics and fibreglass.
Operate equipment including presses, forming machines and cutting tools.
Trim, drill, countersink, grind and finish components to specification.
Verify dimensions using micrometers, calipers and other precision instruments.
Fit and assemble parts and hardware using jigs, fixtures and fasteners.
Apply adhesives, tapes and foams for bonding processes.
Repair or rework defective parts using various fabrication techniques.
Quality Control
Ensure all work meets required quality standards.
Teamwork
Work collaboratively with colleagues across the fabrication team.
Assist with wider production tasks when needed.
Health & Safety
Follow all Health & Safety procedures and working practices.
Comply with current risk assessments and method statements.
Essential Skills & Experience
Previous experience in plastic process vessel fabrication or similar plastic-fabrication environments.
Full driving licence (advantageous for occasional off-site work).
Forklift licence desirable but not essential.
Strong understanding of technical standards and fabrication codes.
Confident decision-making, especially regarding safety and engineering risks.
Good organisational, planning and time-management skills.
Reliable, constructive team player with good communication and integrity.
Numerate and able to interpret technical documentation.
