About the role

Trainee / Junior Plant Maintenance Engineer We are seeking a Trainee / Junior Plant Maintenance Engineer to join our aviation MRO facility. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with some practical maintenance experience or a relevant maintenance/engineering qualification who is looking to start or develop their career in plant maintenance. Full training and support will be provided. You will support the maintenance team with mechanical and basic electrical tasks, helping to ensure all equipment and facility areas are maintained to a high standard to support safe and efficient operations. Key Responsibilities Assist with the maintenance and repair of plant equipment and facility areas. Support fault-finding activities under supervision. Carry out daily machine and equipment checks, including basic statutory inspections. Learn and follow planned preventative maintenance routines. Assist with identifying and ordering spare parts. Follow all environmental, health, and safety procedures. Work shifts and support out-of-hours call-ins when trained and required. Education & Qualifications Qualification in mechanical, electrical, or maintenance engineering preferred. Engineering or maintenance apprenticeship desirable but not essential. Candidates who have recently completed a qualification and are looking to start their career are encouraged to apply. Experience & Skills Some hands-on practical experience (e.g. hand tools, basic mechanical work, maintenance tasks). Mechanical and/or electrical interest or foundation knowledge. Willingness to learn plant systems such as pumps, motors, and pipework (PVC). Exposure to systems such as gas ovens, chillers, rectifiers, air handling units, or air conditioning is advantageous but not required. Comfortable working at heights or willing to be trained. Personal Qualities Keen to learn and develop technical skills. Able to follow verbal and written instructions. Works safely with tools and equipment. Can work effectively as part of a team and with minimal supervision. Flexible approach to working hours, including occasional overtime and weekends. Eligibility: Must have full right to live and work in the UK.
