The Role As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide dedicated 1:1 support for a Year 1 pupil, helping them access learning and develop socially, emotionally, and academically. Key Responsibilities: Provide tailored 1:1 support for a designated Year 1 pupil. Support children with SEND, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and emotional regulation needs. Assist with learning activities and classroom engagement. Promote emotional wellbeing, independence, and positive behaviour. Work collaboratively with class teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals. Implement and support targets outlined in the pupil's Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). Adapt learning resources and strategies to meet individual needs. Create a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment.Working Hours Monday to Thursday: 8:15am to 4:30pm Friday: 8:15am to 3:00pm Immediate Start Available The Ideal Candidate To be successful in this SEN Teaching Assistant role, you will: Hold a Level 1 Teaching Assistant qualification as a minimum. Level 2 or Level 3 qualifications are desirable. Have previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant (LSA), SEN Teaching Assistant, or SEN Support Worker. Have experience supporting children with SEND in either a specialist or mainstream setting. Be confident supporting pupils with ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or other additional needs. Demonstrate patience, empathy, resilience, and a child-centred approach. Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to obtain one.
