Head of Probate - North Yorkshire

The Role
From a recruitment perspective, this is a key strategic appointment with responsibilities including:

• Leading and developing the probate department
• Managing a varied caseload of probate and estate administration matters
• Advising clients on wills, trusts, inheritance tax, and succession planning
• Handling complex and high-value estate administrations
• Supervising and mentoring junior solicitors and support staff
• Ensuring compliance, risk management, and high client care standards across the team
• Supporting business development initiatives and maintaining strong referrer relationships
• Contributing to the wider strategic growth of the firm

About You

• Qualified Solicitor with significant experience in probate and private client matters
• Strong technical knowledge of estate administration, wills, and trusts
• Previous leadership or supervisory experience is advantageous
• Excellent communication and client management skills
• Commercially aware and motivated to grow and develop a department
• STEP qualification or working towards STEP is desirable
