This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and entrepreneurial corporate lawyer looking to take the next step in their career. Working with a diverse client base, from high-growth start-ups and university spinouts to established businesses, investors, management teams and institutions, you'll advise on a broad range of complex and high-profile corporate matters.As part of a Manchester team of nine lawyers and a national practice of around 100 corporate specialists, you'll enjoy high-quality work, strong partner support, and genuine opportunities to progress your career. Many matters have an international element, providing exposure to sophisticated transactions and a varied, stimulating workload.The personQualified solicitor with 4+ years' PQE gained within a national, international or respected regional firmStrong experience advising on corporate transactions, particularly M&AProven ability to manage transactions as the lead day-to-day fee earner, with appropriate senior supportExperience of private equity transactions is advantageous but not essentialCommercially minded with excellent client relationship and communication skillsEnthusiastic about developing business opportunities and growing professional networksA collaborative team player who enjoys mentoring and supporting junior colleaguesMotivated, ambitious and keen to build a long-term career within a forward-thinking firmThe activitiesLead the day-to-day delivery of M&A, private equity and other corporate transactions, supported by Partners and Principal AssociatesDraft and negotiate key transaction documents and manage deal progression from start to finishCollaborate with colleagues across teams and offices to deliver seamless client service on complex mattersBuild trusted relationships with clients, acting as a key point of contact throughout transactionsSupport and supervise junior lawyers, helping to develop their technical and professional skillsTake an active role in business development, networking and marketing initiativesContribute to the continued growth and success of the Manchester Corporate team and wider national practiceWe reserve the right to close this vacancy early if we receive sufficient applications for the role.
