Sales Engineer

A long-established engineering manufacturer, supplying high quality tooling, prototypes and low volume components to sectors including automotive, aerospace, defence and motorsport, is seeking an Internal Sales Engineer to join their experienced technical team. An excellent opportunity for someone with an engineering or manufacturing background who enjoys understanding how parts are made and is looking to move into a more commercial, customer focused role. Sales Engineer duties include: * Preparing detailed quotations for machined parts, tooling and assemblies * Interpreting engineering drawings, CAD models and technical specifications * Estimating manufacturing costs including materials, machining time and subcontract processes * Supporting the sales function in converting enquiries into orders * Liaising closely with production, suppliers and customers * Building and maintaining strong relationships with new and existing clients Successful candidate for the role of Sales Engineer must possess: * Background in engineering or manufacturing (machining, fabrication, tooling, or similar) * Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and/or CAD * Strong communication skills, both written and verbal * Commercial awareness or interest in developing a career in technical sales * Confident use of Excel for costing and quotation work – essential * A proactive, organised approach with strong attention to detail * Previous estimating or costing experience – desirable * Knowledge of prototype or low volume production – desirable * Exposure to automotive, aerospace, defence or motorsport environments – desirable Location: Willenhall, West Midlands Hours of work: 7:30am - 4:00pm Monday to Thursday, 7:30am - 12:30pm Friday (37 hours) Salary: £32,000 – £36,000 per annum + potential bonus Benefits: Medicash health plan, Pension If you have the skills and experience to fulfil the role of Sales Engineer, please APPLY TODAY
