We are currently working with a welcoming primary school in Lambeth that is seeking dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs and making a positive impact on their educational journey.

Days/Hours: Monday to Friday : 8:30am - 4:00pm

Contract: Long-term / Temp-to-Perm

The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and other support staff to provide tailored support to pupils with additional needs.

We are looking for candidates who are:

  • Experienced in supporting children with SEND, either in schools or similar settings
  • Patient, caring, and committed to helping pupils succeed
  • Flexible and confident in adapting to individual pupil needs
  • Proactive and able to use their initiative within the classroom
  • Hold a Level 2 or Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning qualification (desirable)

Key Responsibilities

Your role may include:

  • Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis or in small groups
  • Assisting the class teacher with tailored learning activities
  • Encouraging pupil engagement, participation, and independence
  • Supporting pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural needs
  • Helping to maintain a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment
  • Monitoring and recording pupil progress where required
Candidates must hold a valid DBS certificate registered on the Update Service or be willing to complete a new DBS check as part of the recruitment process.
