Firmware Test & Automation Engineer

Job Title: Firmware Test & Automation Engineer Location: Cambridge Salary: £50,000 to £70,000   Employment Type: Permanent Working Arrangements: Onsite working We’re supporting a brilliant engineering team who are looking for a Firmware Test Automation Engineer to take ownership of their automated testing system (ATS). This is a hands‑on role where you’ll be writing code, building tests, investigating failures, and working closely with firmware engineers to keep development moving smoothly.    What you’ll be doing - Developing, maintaining, and improving the automated test system (ATS). - Writing C# code to build new automated tests and enhance existing ones. - Investigating failures from test runs and communicating findings clearly to the business - Reviewing code, capturing requirements, and ensuring the system stays robust and scalable. - Working closely with firmware engineers. - Acting to drive the development of the ATS.    What we’re looking for - Professional experience writing C#. - Background in software testing or hardware/embedded testing. - Comfortable working with electronics/embedded systems. - Bonus skills: Python - Someone proactive, driven, and keen to take ownership.    Why this role is a great opportunity - There’s real scope to develop skills and experience as well as working with a business in diverse industries - You’ll own a critical system and have freedom to shape how it evolves.
