This is a meaningful and rewarding opportunity to help design, develop and deliver the Pathway: Breaking Free From Homelessness Programme, part of the wider Moving On: Breaking Free From Homelessness project.

This five-year initiative is funded by the National Lottery Community Fund and led by HarmonI.

As Project Officer, you will work directly with men experiencing homelessness, supporting them to build confidence, resilience, life skills and readiness to move on from emergency accommodation into a tenancy of their choosing.

Working alongside the Project Coordinator, support staff and management team, you will help embed the programme into existing hostel and supported housing provision, improving the likelihood of clients successfully moving towards safe, sustainable and independent living.

Key Responsibilities Organise, design and deliver a programme that supports men experiencing homelessness to improve confidence, wellbeing, quality of life and independent living skills.

Deliver seminars, workshops, one-to-one support and activities focused on tenancy readiness, mental and physical health, resilience and personal development.

Work with clients to plan and evaluate programme activities, encourage attendance and generate new project ideas.

Support outcome planning for each participant, helping clients document personal goals and measure progress.

Coordinate with key workers to support individual plans covering areas such as health and wellbeing, addiction recovery, relationships, training, employment, volunteering, community citizenship and tenancy sustainment.

Organise and engage sessional workers to deliver in-house activities that support physical health, mental health and resilience.

Signpost clients to appropriate services, support networks and community-based projects.

Assist with collecting data, gathering feedback and evaluating programme outcomes against agreed goals, outputs and reporting requirements.

Support annual reporting for the National Lottery Community Fund, working with the Project Coordinator to ensure reporting is completed in a timely manner.

Help celebrate and recognise client achievements throughout their personal pathway.

Provide day-to-day administrative support to ensure smooth delivery of project activities.

Assist with project communications, including social media updates, digital content, case studies and presentations.

Support effective relationships with stakeholders and ensure adherence to HarmonI policies and procedures.

Person Specification / About You The successful candidate will have a genuine interest in helping vulnerable people make positive changes in their lives and move towards independent living.

Essential criteria include: A minimum of 4 GCSEs at Grades A-C, including English and Maths, or equivalent QCF Level 2 qualification.

Demonstrable experience of working with people in a social or societal exclusion setting, such as special housing, residential work or another supportive environment.

Demonstrable experience in delivering projects from design through to successful implementation.

Ability to deliver confidently in front of groups.

Ability to tailor engagement to suit the needs of the client group.

Ability to work with individuals and groups who may find sustained concentration or commitment challenging.

Awareness of legislative requirements for working with vulnerable adults.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

A caring, non-judgemental approach to working with people experiencing homelessness.

Good problem-solving skills and the ability to use your own initiative.

Flexibility to work according to the needs of the programme.

Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to deal with difficult or crisis situations.

Good situational awareness and the ability to identify and mitigate risk appropriately.

Full, clean driving licence.

Desirable criteria include: A second-level qualification in a relevant field of study.

Experience of working with people experiencing homelessness and/or vulnerable client groups within a hostel or supported housing setting.
