Job Description: Occupational Therapist (Adhoc / Freelance) – Bournemouth Area
Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and flexible Occupational Therapist to provide adhoc support across respite, learning disability, and enablement services in the Bournemouth area. This role is ideal for professionals looking for variety, autonomy, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in diverse care settings. Engagement can be offered on a zero-hours agency contract or a freelance basis, depending on preference.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver high-quality occupational therapy interventions tailored to individual needs in respite, learning disability, and enablement environments.
* Assess service users’ functional abilities and develop person-centred care plans to promote independence and wellbeing.
* Provide therapeutic input to support daily living skills, sensory integration, and community participation.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, families, and carers to ensure holistic support.
* Maintain accurate clinical records in line with professional and organisational standards.
* Offer flexible availability to cover adhoc shifts or short-term assignments.
Requirements
* Qualified Occupational Therapist with HCPC registration.
* Experience working with individuals with learning disabilities, complex needs, or in enablement/respite services.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to adapt to different care environments.
* Self-motivated, reliable, and able to work independently.
* Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain).
Contract Options
* Zero-hours agency contract – flexible shifts as required.
* Freelance engagement – project-based or sessional work.
