Freelance Site Managers (Fit Out & Refurbishment)

We are actively recruiting experienced Site Managers for a number of upcoming CAT A and CAT B commercial fit-out projects across London, working with a range of established Design & Build and specialist fit-out contractors. Project values typically range from £500k to £5m+, covering commercial offices, landlord refurbishments, workplace transformations, and high-spec fit-out schemes. These positions suit Site Managers who are confident taking ownership of projects, managing subcontractors, driving programme, and delivering high-quality environments within challenging timescales. The Role As Site Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of site activities from mobilisation through to practical completion. You will be expected to maintain high standards across health & safety, quality, programme, and site presentation while ensuring works are delivered efficiently and professionally. Typical works include: CAT A office refurbishments CAT B office fit-outs Internal reconfigurations Partitioning and glazed systems MEP installations and coordination Raised access flooring Suspended ceilings High-end joinery packages Flooring and finishes Reception and breakout areas Meeting rooms and collaboration spaces Key Responsibilities Manage all day-to-day site operations Coordinate subcontractors and specialist trades Drive project programme and monitor progress against milestones Chair site coordination meetings and toolbox talks Ensure compliance with RAMS and H&S legislation Conduct quality inspections and manage snagging processes Coordinate deliveries, logistics, and site access Liaise with Project Managers, clients, consultants, and building management teams Maintain project records, site diaries, and progress reporting Monitor works against drawings, specifications, and design information Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and to budget What We're Looking For Proven experience delivering CAT A and CAT B commercial fit-out projects Experience operating as a No.1 Site Manager on commercial schemes Strong understanding of fit-out sequencing and programme management Excellent subcontractor management and communication skills Experience working within occupied buildings and live environments is advantageous Ability to work independently and take ownership of project delivery Strong eye for quality and attention to detail Essential Qualifications SMSTS CSCS Card First Aid at Work Asbestos Awareness (preferred) What's on Offer? £280-£300 per day depending on experience Multiple projects across Central and Greater London Opportunities with well-established fit-out contractors Long-term pipeline of work Fast-paced, high-profile commercial projects Potential for repeat work on future schemesIf you're an experienced Site Manager with a strong commercial fit-out background and are looking for your next contract opportunity, we'd love to hear from you.
