Location: Orkney Islands
Rates: £39 an hour start + Increases
Start date: 11th of May
Duration: 12 months

Turner Lovell is supporting a leading energy infrastructure contractor with a proven track record of delivering complex high-voltage transmission and substation projects across the UK.

We are seeking two experienced Site Supervisors, Electrical or Mechanical bias, to support a major new build substation project in the Orkney Islands. These roles will be responsible for supervising site activities across dedicated Electrical and Mechanical work fronts, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery in line with programme requirements.

Working closely with the Site Manager, you will take ownership of daily site coordination, leading small teams and subcontractors, ensuring work fronts are properly planned, resourced, and executed safely and effectively.

Duties:
Supervise and coordinate Electrical or Mechanical site work activities
Lead small teams and subcontractors to deliver works safely and efficiently
Support planning and sequencing of daily and upcoming site activities
Ensure labour, plant, materials, and information are available to deliver works
Monitor progress against the programme and escalate risks, delays, or issues
Ensure compliance with RAMS, SHEQ procedures, and site toolbox talks
Support the delivery of HV substation installation works and associated activities
Maintain accurate site records, documentation, and reporting requirements
Requirements:
Valid CSCS or CCNSG Safety Passport
SSSTS or SMSTS (preferred)
Proven experience in Electrical xwzovoh or Mechanical supervision within HV substations or major infrastructure projects
Background working in safety-critical environments (power, utilities, oil & gas, or large-scale construction)
Strong understanding of RAMS, site safety systems, and construction procedures
Ability to lead teams and coordinate multiple work fronts effectively
Strong communication, planning, and problem-solving skills
Commitment to maintaining high SHEQ standards at all times
