Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and organised Stores Manager on a temporary to permanent basis to oversee the day-to-day operation of the stores department. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing inventory, supervising store personnel, ensuring accurate stock control, maintaining health and safety standards, and supporting efficient business operations through effective stock management and procurement processes. Interested candidates MUST hold a full clean driving licence and be over 25 years old (for insurance purposes as will help with deliveries in the company vehicle)
Key Responsibilities
* Manage all store operations, including receiving, storing, issuing, and dispatching goods.
* Maintain accurate inventory records and conduct regular stock checks and audits.
* Monitor stock levels and coordinate replenishment to prevent shortages or overstocking.
* Supervise and support store staff, ensuring high performance and adherence to company procedures.
* Ensure all goods received are checked for quality, quantity, and accuracy against purchase orders.
* Implement and maintain stock control systems and procedures.
* Liaise with suppliers, procurement teams, and other departments regarding inventory requirements.
* Prepare regular reports on stock levels, usage trends, discrepancies, and inventory performance.
* Investigate and resolve stock variances and inventory discrepancies.
* Ensure compliance with health, safety, and security regulations within the stores area.
* Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient warehouse/store environment.
* Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cost-control initiatives related to inventory management.
* Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
Skills and Qualifications
* Proven experience in a Stores Manager, Warehouse Manager, or Inventory Control role.
* Strong knowledge of stock management and inventory control systems.
* Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
* Strong leadership and team management abilities.
* Good numerical and analytical skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and inventory management software.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
* Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to warehousing and storage.
Working Hours
* Full-time position, typically 40+ hours per week with one in three Saturday mornings am to 12 noon
* Occasional overtime may be required to meet operational demands.
