CNC Programmer

Location: Portsmouth Hourly Rate: £19.90 per hour - 37 hours per week  The Company A leading precision engineering and manufacturing business based in Portsmouth is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer to join their growing team. The Role As a CNC Programmer, you will be responsible for creating, developing and optimising CNC programs to support the manufacture of precision-engineered components. Working closely with the production and engineering teams, you will ensure programmes are efficient, accurate and capable of meeting customer quality requirements. Key Responsibilities Creating and editing CNC programmes for a variety of machining centres Supporting the introduction of new products from design through to manufacture Selecting tooling, speeds and feeds to maximise machining efficiency Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications Troubleshooting manufacturing and machining issues Supporting machine set-up activities where required Driving continuous improvement initiatives to reduce cycle times and improve quality Ensuring all work is carried out in line with quality and health & safety standards About You The successful CNC Programmer will ideally have: Previous experience programming CNC machinery within a precision engineering environment Experience with Fanuc, Heidenhain, Mazatrol or similar controls Strong understanding of machining processes and cutting tools Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and CAD data Experience of working with tight tolerances and complex components Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail A proactive approach and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team What We Offer Permanent, full-time position Competitive salary dependent on experience 25 days holiday 8 bank holidays  Overtime available, paid at time and a half  Supportive and collaborative working environment Company benefits package Apply Now If you're an experienced CNC Programmer looking for your next challenge in Portsmouth, we'd love to hear from you.
