The role provides independent oversight while enabling informed, risk-based decisions in a complex technical environment.With the foundations of our enterprise risk framework established, we are looking for a leader with first-hand experience operating and evolving a modern second line function. This is not a traditional governance role. It requires a strong understanding of modern engineering and technology environments, balancing innovation with effective risk management.Leading a multidisciplinary team, the CBRO will provide independent oversight while enabling the business to move quickly and safely.Key responsibilities of the role include:Leading and maturing the second line of defence, providing effective oversight while enabling the businessOwning and evolving the operational risk framework into an embedded, data-driven capabilityDeveloping a holistic view of risk across technology, infrastructure, security, operations and corporate functionsPartnering closely with Engineering, Security and Technology leadership to integrate risk management into service design and operationsProviding independent oversight of security controls, operational resilience, policy compliance and enterprise riskEnabling the first line to make informed decisions aligned with the firm’s risk appetiteUsing automation, data and AI to improve risk identification, monitoring and reportingOverseeing operational incidents, material risks and remediation to ensure effective prioritisation and resolutionProviding clear risk insight and advice to the Executive Management Team and BoardLeading and developing a multidisciplinary team across Enterprise Risk, Security Risk Oversight, Operational Resilience and Algorithmic SafetyWho are we looking for?We are looking for a pragmatic, technology-minded risk leader with experience operating modern second line functions.
