About The Role
As Head of Converter Control, you will be responsible for the strategic, technical, and operational leadership of the Control Department. You’ll ensure the department is equipped with the right skills, tools, and processes to deliver cutting‑edge solutions in converter control systems.
How you will make an impact
Department Leadership
- Build and maintain a high‑performing team with the right mix of competencies and leadership roles
- Ensure robust planning, efficient processes, and seamless interfaces with other departments
- Foster strong vertical communication between Engineering Leadership (EL) and the Control Department
- Conduct regular 1:1s with direct reports, Functional Leaders, UK Team Leads, and cross‑functional stakeholders
Technical Excellence
- Provide technical sparring and guidance to team members
UK‑Specific Leadership
- Act as Individual Contributor Manager (ICM) for UK‑based team members
- Liaise with UK HR Business Partners and EHS community, ensuring compliance with UK safety standards
- Interface with UK Real Estates for facility‑related matters
- Oversee recruitment and development of graduates in the UK Graduate Scheme
- Serve as a UK legal and financial signatory
What you bring
- Degree in a relevant field or equivalent demonstrable experience
- Proven leadership experience in control systems or related engineering fields
- Strong technical background with the ability to mentor and guide engineers
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Familiarity with UK HR, EHS, and legal frameworks is a plus
- Passion for renewable energy and innovation
